Chyavan Rishi was known as an expert of YOG and PRANAYAAM in king Shryati’s state.He started doing hard prayers without eating,drinking,and moving from one place so there became a sand pit around hie complete body.One day the king went just for a walk with his family.His daughter Sukanya ran away with her friends,she reached near that sand pit.She saw many ants there and two shining things,she picked up two sharp sticks and she inserted them in those shining,blood came out,she got scared and ran away ,they were Chyavan Rishi’s eyes.Suddenly King’s army soldiers felt stomack pain together.Chyavan Rishi came there and said to the king,Your daughter has damaged my eyes so she will have to marry me and serve through out her life.Sukanya agreed got married to him and started living with him as a devoted wife.One day Ashvini Kumars were going through that way,they saw Sukanya,and attracted towards her beauty,When Sukanya came to know this she got very angry and about to curse them,but they said sorry again and again,they got scared because she was a devoted wife.They took Chyavan Rishi to a lake for bath,put a special ointment on his eyes,and his blindness cured.
