There was a king,he was very proud.The People living in his state and working for him were not happy with him,because he used to punish them without any reason.Once a saint reached there,when the king came to know about it he started to tease him,insult him and said”Leave my state or I will punish you.My men will pull you around the whole state whipping continuously,but he saw no effect of his words,then he asked his soldiers to bring him to the court.There he said”I warned you before but you did not listen to me now you will be moved around whipping in the whole state.The saint was still smiling.The king was surprised he asked”Why are you smiling?The saint said”I am feeling pity on you.”The King asked”Why?”The saint said”Assume that you are in a place where there is nothing.You are very thirsty,and some body offers you half a cup of dirty water for half of your state,what would you do?The King said “I will immediately accept that water”The saint said”If it brings illness to you,and some one comes to cure it for the rest of your state,what would you do?””No doubt,I will accept his offer”Then your proud is useless,because just for half a cup of dirty water you are ready to leave it.”The King understood,He was ashamed,Then he became a good King.
