King Krishnadevraya was a powerful king of his time.He conquered many states of the time and included them in Vijaynagar.He had have good trading relations with Portuguese and Iran as well.A trader named Firdaus while arrived in King Krishnadevraya’s court,a big feast was organised in honour of him.King Krishnadevraya asked the cook to make Rasgullas and after dinner serve the dessert.After dinner while Rasgullas were served Firdaus did not eat,King Krishnadevraya asked,”Why are you not eating Rasgullas?”He said,”Where are the roots ?”Listening his question every body including King Krishnadevraya got puzzled ,One courtier said,”There is no such thing”But Tenali Rama got up and went out,after ten minutes he came back with a golden bowl,covered with green holy cloth of Muslims He then called Firdaus in the middle of the dining hall and handed it over and requested ,”Here are roots Please have it”,He opened it,there were sugar cane cubes in it,A smile arose on his lips,he ate all cubes.
