King Raghu was Ayodhya’s King.He was great grand father of Lord Shri Ram.The next generations of his family called”Raghuvanshi” in the name of King Raghu.
Once King Raghu organised a very big”Yagya” {holy event} when it got completed,King Raghu gifted everything to the poor people.He gifted his costly clothes,ornaments,and utensils too.He had now only ordinary clothes,and clay utensils for use.
When he had given everything,Vardantu’s pupil Kauts came there.The King,washed his feet,welcomed him and asked”how have you come here?”He replied”I had come here for some work but now when you have gifted everything I won’t put you in embarrassing situation”King Raghu said”No,Please tell me what for you are here”He said”I have completed my education from Gurukul,I requested my Guru Vardantu to ask the “Gurudakshinna”{A gift given by the pupil to his teacher}.My Guru said”You have served here by heart,so that was my “Gurudakshinna”You can go home happily”but I insisted him to ask something,so Guru Vedantu got angry and said”I have learnt 14 types of skills,so you bring one crore gold coins for each skill”,so am here to ask 14 crores gold coins from you”King Raghu said”You have come here crossing long way,Now I request you to stay here just for three days in my guest room”King Raghu thought”If somebody goes back without taking anything from me,it will be a blame on me”Kauts agreed.King Raghu called his Mahamantri”{Minister}and said”All Kings have paid the tax,but Kuber have never paid,Though he is GOD but so what,he lives on Kailaash”{Himalayan Range}and I am the chakravarti{All smaller kings surrender}King,so Kuber must pay the tax,Now you put all the weapons in my horse cart,I will sleep in the cart,and tomorrow,early in the morning I will attack Kuber,I will have to give 14000 gold coins to Kauts.
That night King Raghu slept in the horse cart,When treasurer heard this he came running to King Raghu and said that “Your honour,last night,Gold coins poured from the sky,all pots and the complete treasury hall is now full of gold coins”King Raghu understood that Kuber has poured the gold coins,he asked Kauts to take all those coins,Kauts said”I don’t need all,I need only 14 thousand gold coins,I will not take more than that,and he went with 14 thousand gold coins,then,King Raghu,again gifted the remaining coins to other Brahmins.
