Long long ago there was a powerful Demon.His name was Vajrang.He was a Demon but he liked peace.One day he went for Tapasya{Hard Prayers}in the Jungle with his wife Vaarangi.While he was involved in his Tapasya ,Lord Indra tortured his wife very much.When Vajrang finished his Tapasya,Vaarangi told each and every thing to him,she said”Take a revenge”Vajrang told”Have patience ,every thing will be alright”After some time Vaarangi gave birth to a son,they named him”Taarak”.Vajrang trained him in using weapons.He became powerful.All demons understood this.and made him their king.One day Vaarangi said”You must take the revenge now”Taarak asked”Who insulted you?”Vaarangi said”Lord Indra is your enemy you will have to win him”Taarak said”Don’t worry,I will do hard prayers{Tapasya}to defeat Lord Indra.He went to the forest and did hard prayers.Brahma{Creator of the whole earth,according to Hindu Mythology}appeared and asked him”I am happy with you,Ask ,what do you want”He said”I don’t want to die”Brahma said”Every one has to die in this mortal world”Then I want to be killed only by a child”Brahma blessed him with this wish.and vanished.Taarak asked Demon Kaalnemi to bring all GODS,he caught them and brought before Taarak asked his mother to punish Lord Indra,She said”Famous people get hurt by insult,so make him bald and leave him”Taarak asked his soldier to do this”and he left Lord Indra.When Indra reached Heaven all GODS became very sad.Lord Indra went to Brahma.Brahma said”Do not worry,I will soon search a way”All GODS wanted to find the way at once.Brahma said you will have to wait till Lord Shiva’s Son’s birth”All GODS went back.Then Brahma called Rajni{Night}he said”You will have to work as maid of Parvati{Shiva’s Wife}She said “I will do it”Brahma ‘s explained her what to do.According to Brahma’s wish,Himalaya’s wife Menka gave birth her as a female child.When she grew young,Brahma sent Naarad to Himalaya for asking her daughter Parvati as bride for Lord Shiva.Naarad went there,Himalaya agreed happily.
Lord Indra sent Kaamdev to Lord Shiva,so that he could convince him for marriage.Lord Shiva was doing Tapasya {Hard Prayers}at that time,so he got angry and he killed Kaamdev.
When Parvati came to know about the proposal she became very happy,and decided to do hard prayers{Tapasya}After many years Saptrishi{The Plough Star}blessed her.
Saptrishi reached to Lord Shiva and told him about Parvati’s hard prayers.Lord Shiva agreed,and got married with her.After some years,Parvati gave birth a child,named “Kartikey”.He was very powerful and strong.One day Parvati and Lord Shiva were playing”Chaupad”{A Game}At first Parvati defeated Lord Shiva,then Lord Shiva.Then Lord Shiva defeated her with the help of Kartikey.Parvati understood Lord Shiva’s trick and she cursed karikey”You will be a child ever”hearing this Kartikey said”Please forgive me”Parvati said”I can only add one thing,you can win big wars”
All GODS went to Kartikey and requested him to be the commander of their army.He agreed.They attacked Demons.When Taarak saw a child in the battle field he laughed and asked him to go back home.
It was a big war between GODS and Demons.Kartikey killed Tarak.
