Maharshi Atharwa and Shanti’s Son was Dadhichi.He was vey silent,Kind and Religious from his very childhood.He used to worship Lord Shiva.When he grew young,he went to Himalaya with his father’s Permission for “tapasya”and he worshipped there for hundreds of years.
Twashta’s Son,Vrattasur attacked GODS and won heaven.GODS could not find any way to defeat Demons,so they went to Narayan.Narayan said’Vrattasur can not be killed by ordinary weapons,because he worshipped Shesh Naag in his previous life,so he can only be killed by a Vajra which must be made by Dadhichi’s Bones,because Dadhichi has worshipped for hundreds of years so his bones have become very strong,and he is very kind so he can’t deny,if asked.No body can kill Maharshi Dadhichi,and all GODS know that if he gets angry,he can turn him to ashes.So all GODS went to Maharshi Dadhichi,He asked”Why have you come here?”All GODs explained about Vrattasur’s activities.Maharshi Dadhichi said”I am a Brhmin,I can’t fight,Vrattasur has not done anything wrong for me,so I can’t curse him.”GOD Indra said”We have come here to ask your bones so that we can make a Vajra and defeat the demons”Maharshi Dadhichi became very happy to hear this ,he thought every one has to die one day,but such death is the best death which is for the welfare of others,he said”I am leaving my body,You Please take my bones”He closed his eyes and he left his body through “YOGA”.Wild animals came there and they ate his body except Bones,Vishwakarma made The Vajra,and Indra Killed Vrattasur with the Vajra.Maharshi Dadhichi became immortal,We all remember his name with great respect.
