Kalyan Singh after coming back was searching all the Mortgage papers and their own land registered papers but couldn’t find anything. He called Deenu the main cook and asked him. He said , “ That night when Shamu was burnt a crowd of farmers also entered in the Haveli and they came inside Chaudhary Saheb’s study where he had kept the land and Lagaan papers, the angry mob couldn’t be controlled and they burnt all the papers in that fire in which Shamu was burnt.Now there is no proof of any land. He went back and Kalyan Singh sat down disappointed. For him the future was completely uncertain now. He had completed his education and with good marks.
