Long long ago there lived a king named Shantanu in Utkal Pradesh,India.He had a beautiful daughter,her name was Meenakshi,Now she was a beautiful and young girl of 21 years.she was very fond of dancing,so the king made arrangements for her dance coaching in the Palace.The coach was a young man named Gandharv ,During coaching both of them got attracted towards each other,very soon the king came to know about all this as one of the musicians told all this to the king,The king got very angry and asked the Army commander to hang him till death,and he followed the order,This is all happened very quickly,so the Princess could know it very late.She felt a great grief for Gandharv.She thought that because of her,he died a sudden death.She was trying to forget all this while one night she started walking in sleep,went to the shore of the river,Gandharv was rowing a boat,he welcomes her,and she sat in his boat,they had a long time with each other silently,and then before dawn she reached the palace,this started happening every night,one day the guard followed her up to the shore,he immediately informed the King,King went with him and saw all this with his own eyes,He was now worried about his daughter,He wanted to marry his daughter but how?He could not hide all this with anybody,and all these tales already got spread all over the state.Raj vaidy said”There is no medicine for this illness”Then he called a Tantrik,he suggested”Because Gandharv was killed and did not die a natural death,now he has become a Ghost,and because he loved the Princess and this was his incomplete desire so he calls the Princess again and again,There is only one way to get rid of him is to call him with prayers,and to request him to leave the Princess.Everything was done according to the Tantrik,but in vein,that night again the Princess was seen in Gandharv’s boat,but she did not come back to the Palace,Next morning People saw her dead body at the shore of the river.
