Goddess Lakshmi's elder sister "Jeshtha"asked her Both of us are equally beautiful but people respect you and where ever I go people hate me and always be angry with me.Goddess Lakshmi said," I give them Money,Happiness,& Prosperity,And You give them Poverty,Problems,and illness.If you give them happiness they would love you too.Hearing this,Jeshtha got angry,she said,"You are my younger sister,and you don't have right to teach me.I can make beggar to your millionaire follower."Goddess Lakshmi then said," I can again make them millionaire King." Jeshtha said," I will again make him beggar,and he will not be able to get even a grain."Let us go and do the trial .Goddess Lakshmi said," Anuradhapur is a village near by ,Bramhin Deenanath worships me" Both of them changed their get up,became ordinary women and sat there in the temple.Just then Deenanath arrived,Goddess Lakshmi put gold coins in a hollow Bamboo and kept it on the way he was coming ,Jeshtha touched the Bamboo.Deenanath picked the bamboo up.He met a boy who was going to the market to buy bamboo,Deenanath said ," You will get the Bamboo for one rupee in the market" The Boy said,"I have got only "Chavanni"{25 Paise}I will pay the remaining money later.Deenanath gave the bamboo to him.Jeshtha laughed and said,"Look ! Your bamboo full of gold coins sold for just a "Chavanni"and this Chavanni won't stop.Both of them started following Deenanath,they saw Deenanath started plucking flowers and collecting them in a basket,Suddenly Herdsman's son appeared there he picked up Deenanath's basket and ran away.Again the boy reached back there who bought the bamboo,He said,"It is very heavy so I won't take it give my money back,Deenanath said "I lost the Chavanni ,I will return another in the evening."O.K.I will take it in the evening.Now the bamboo was again in Deenanath's hands,Goddess Lakshmi started smiling.Just then the herdsman appeared,he said,"My son picked up your Chavanni,Please take it back."Deenanath became happy,he was going back with the bamboo,the chavanni,and the basket full of flowers.He saw the boy who gave him Chavanni,he returned it back to him.Deenanath decided to fix the bamboo in his roof,Jeshtha became a snake and ran to bite him,When Deenanath saw the snake ,he prayed and said,"Why do you want to kill me,and he hit the snake hard with the bamboo,the bamboo broke,Deenanath collected all the gold coins and thanked Goddess Lakshmi.Goddess Lakshmi said to Jeshtha,"We are sisters and will live together.
