Grandma's Stories--861--Old Lady's Teaching !!

There was a famous king.He was a big warrior and fought against a big and brute empire.He was brave and courageous king and all his people were with him.He had a small army still because of his attacking trick he won one after another states.But there is a good story behind his victories.At first he was a failure.He attacked many times on the capital but failed again and again.One day he was coming from a far away place and crossing the jungle.He decided to stay some where.He saw a small hut,he knocked the door.An old lady opened the door.He wanted shelter for that night.She welcomed him.After some time she served him food.It was "Khichadi"{ A quick cooked Indian food made by rice and pulses cooked together and it is liked and cooked all over India }.It was hot.The King { Not a King up to that time but famous for his attacks,and supported by all people}put his hand in the middle of "Khichadi"his hand got burnt.The old lady gave him a bowl of cold water,so that he could get relief.Then she said,"You stupid ! You are doing the same mistake,being done by our hero,she named him,If "Khichadi" is hot we must eat all the sides first,till that time the middle part will automatically get cold,}He must win the boundary Cities first and then he should attack the capital.After going from there,he did the same,won the complete state,defeated the brute empire.One day he came to that hut again,touched that old lady's feet,{ An Indian custom to give respect to elders}and reminded her about the teaching given by her.The old lady was taken care by the king through out her life.
