On the bank of the Chenab
river of Pakistan was the village called Takht Hazara. There was big
population of Ranjha tribe's people
here. The
present Chowdhary was the main landlord of the village. He had eight
sons and Ranjha was the youngest of those,his name was different but he used to
be called as Ranjha. | Ranjha was very
fond of his father due to being small .Ranjha's other brothers used to work
hard in farming and Ranjha used to play flute.
Due to a dispute over land from his brothers, Ranjha left the house. One night, Ranjha took shelter in a mosque and started playing flute to spend time before sleeping. When the mosque's maulavi Saab heard the music of the flute and asked to stop playing the flute. When Raza asked the reason, Maulavi said that the music of this flute is not Islamic and playing such music is prohibited. .
The next morning he left the mosque and reached another village which was the village of Heer. A beautiful maiden heir was born in the Jat family of the tribe of Sial, which is now in Punjab, Pakistan. Heer's father handed over the task of cattle feeding to Ranjha. Hearing Ranjha's flute heer fell in love with Ranjha. They kept visiting secret places for many years. One day, Heer’s uncle, Kadu, saw them together and talked to her father. Now Heer's family fired Ranjha from the job and refused to meet the two. Heer was forced to marry a person named Sida Khera. . When Ranjha came to know about this, his heart broke. He wandered alone in the forest. One day he got a jogi Gorakhnath and Ranjha became a Jogi sacrificed his physical world.
He wandered across Punjab and finally got the village of Heer he went to her house and knocked on her door. Seda's sister, opened the door. She had already heard about Heer's love. She was against this brother's untimely marriage and helped heer to escape with his love.. Heer and Ranjha ran away but Ranja caught .Ranja was taken to Kazi to solve the case. Heer put her hand on fire to test her love and the king understood her infinite love and left them.
Both of them went to the village of Heer where their parents agreed to marry. On the wedding day, Heer’s uncle, Kido, mixed the poison in her food. The information reached to Ranjha, he reached near Heer, but it was too late. Heer had eaten the food and died.Ranjha did not bear the grief of death and he even ate the poisoned food and died near her. Heer Ranjha were buried in their native village Jhang.
