Cleave-- They cleave together like burrs.
Cleargy--An ounce of mother-wit is worth a pound of clergy.
The defects of cleargyman are soon spied.
Clerk-- The greatest clerks are not the wisest men.
Climb--He who would climb the ladder must begin at the bottom.
He that never climbed never fell.
Cloak-- Have not thy cloak to make ,when it begins to rain.
Clock--As calm as clock.
Close--A closed mouth catches no flies.
Into a shut mouth flies fly not.
As close as wax.
Cloth-Truth hath a good face but bad clothes.
Good clothes open all doors.
Clothes thee in war : arm thee in pence.
Critics are like brushes of nobelmen's clothes.
GOD sends cold after clothes.
Cloud--To be under a cloud.
When the clouds are upon the hills they'll come down by the mills.
Every cloud has a silver lining.
Cloudy--Cloudy mornings turn to clear afternoons.
Clout--Better a clout than a hole out.
Clouting--It is a bad sack that will abide no clouting.
Clown--Seven hours sleep will make a clown forget his design.
Coach--The coaches never run over him.
Coal--To carry coal to new castle.
Let him that is cold blow at the coal.
