Proverbs !! D { 6 }

What is worth doing is worth doing well
By doing nothing we learn to do ill
Saying is one thing and doing another
Done--Do as you would be done by
What is done by nights appears by day
If things were to be done twice all would be wise
If you want a thing done go if not send
Well begun is half done
In doing we learn
Door--Make not the door wider than the house.
A cracking door hangs long
Love comes in at the window and goes out at the door.
A door must either be shut or open
Every door may be shut but death's door.
Two daughters and a back door are three arrant.
The greatest step is that out of doors.
Sweep before your door
Good cloths open all doors
He must stoop that has a low door
An open door may tempt a saint
Here is the door and there is the way
Doth--He that doth nothing doth ever amiss
He that doth well wearith not himself
He that doth lend doth lose his friend
Doubt--He that knows nothing doubts every thing
Down--He that down ,down with him
Dowry--A great dowry is a bed full of brambles

Drink--The more one drinks the more one may
One should drink as much after an egg as after an ox

Drink less and go home by daylight.
Drink only with the duck
We can drink of the burn ,when we can not bite of the brae
Drive--Drive the nailthat will go
Who drive fat oxen should himself be fat
It is better driving a flock than than one
Drive your business do not let it drive you.
Drop--The last drop makes the cup run over
Drown--Never was cat or dog drowned that could see the shore.
A drowning man will catch at a straw
Drum--Where drums beat laws are silent
Drunk--You had better be drunk than drowned
What you do when you are drunk ,You must pay for when
you are dry.
Drunken--Drunken days have all their tomorrows.
Dry--Dry as a bone.
Dry August and warm doth harvest no harm
A dry cough is trumpeter of death
A dry may and dripping June bring all things into tune
Dull--As dull as ditch water.
Dumb--Dumb man got no lands
Dummy--Dummy can not lie
Dust--He that blows in the dust fills his eyes with it.
While the dust is on your feet sell what you have bought.
Small rain lays great dust.
