Prakash Punj was a blood suplier in hospitals. He was living in Town and His father Devesh Punj and younger sister Deepika Punj were living in village.Prakash Punj was very much worried about younger sister's marriage.Dowry is a big curse in India. The arranged marriages are organised by parents and for that they need to give dowry according to their own and boy's status.Father was old, Prakash was earning not very big amount and he had to send money for his father and sister too. He was talking to one of his friends Shyam Chaurasia about his money problem,he was also working in the same line.He suggested him " Why don't you sell your kidney ? Prakash Punj was surprised first but then agreed.Shyam gave hm one address,and said he can receive about 2 Lacs of rupees.
Prakash Punj reached there.There he met Dr. Arvind Ahuja and John D'souza and Madan Gupta.They did the test and sent it to the laboratory and asked him to come next day early in the morning.They already had a patient of same blood group needs that Kidney.
Prakash Punj went next early morning.He was taken to the Operation theatre. When he came into senses he felt pain.He woke up and asked the nurse about his money.She said you go to the Doctor for that.Any how he could manage to walk.He went to the Doctor's chember and asked about his money.Doctor said,"Take these 5 thousand rupees." Why 5 thousand why not 2 Lacs ?he asked Doctor said ," We have not taken your Kidney because tissue did not match."Why did this big cut and 12 stitches are there on my stomach ? His anger was at its height.He went to the Police Station and reported.
Dora Rohan and the Police Party reached to that hospital. There they found two more Kidney donors who did not know their Kidneys were removed,because they were brought there saying that they have got a good job and for that a medical examination must done,and two Patients Kidney transplant was done to them by taking 15 Lacs rupees each.
Doctors escaped from the hospital,so all the staff was taken in Police Custody,and Patients were sent to Government Hospital for recovery.
Hard search was done by raid all the expected places. At last all the Doctors arrested from a farm house.Criminal case was filed against them.
