India is a democratic republic. We elect our own representatives.All grown up citizens of the country have right to vote and elect the representative of his or her own choice.Elections are held after every five years.All citizens 18 and above male or female have right to vote.A few days before the elections various political parties carry on an intensive propaganda in favour of their candidates.Meetings are held posters are pasted on walls,leaflets are distributed.
On the fixed day people go to the polling with their ID proofs and Voting slips in which their numbers are mentioned. We have different booths and which booth one has to go is mentioned in their registers,Out side the polling booths people supporting different parties have these registers and they tally and send you to the particular room.Polling is being done under supervision of polling officer.There also your name is tallied, every one's  middle finger tip is marked by non erasable ink at least for one month.Then a voter has to go behind a curtain where EVM Machine is placed.There are parties names and symbols and pushing buttons.Voter pushes the button of his own choice. These machines are connected to computers which shows the vote is done perfectly. The officer sitting there says yes its done and then voter can go.We see great rush at all polling booths.but every one looks happy after casting his vote.
