We have seen four generations after independence.The first generation,which saw the British rule. And Independence too, so among them both type of people were there , some who belong to high society, their life style had clear effect of British people, rest were spending pure Indian life.Many of them became a part of protest against British too. All these were the first and second generations.These families had have hard and fast rules in families. Only caste based marriages were allowed. Very few young people of that generation could dare marring inter caste against society's social customs.This was the generation where most of the families living as combined families. They were living under strict discipline of the elders of the family. Elders were given full respect and they were fully taken care by younger ones.Some of the young ones who were in jobs ( After independence, getting jobs was not very tough ) were transferred here and there.And they practiced living according to their circumstances. Their Parents were living away and their children were also brought up here and there with their parents. These children were the third generation after independence.In case both parents are in job and living at different places due to transfer, children were not under strict discipline of parents, or grandparents as nuclear families started from that very generation. At the time of this third generation was mostly government school products and also averages graduates got good jobs in government's different departments.Inter caste ( love marriages ) were common at this time Now , about the fourth generation, this is the time when revolutionary changes appeared in science and technology, big donations were asked in good renowned schools, government schools standards went down and craze of such English medium school increased.Every one was now running a competitive race of different careers, coaching classes system increased, Children doing hard work achieved their dream careers, got good jobs , migrated to other towns and then to other countries. Multi national companies jobs made foreign tours off and on, Internet connections made the world a global village.Boys girls started dating with each other, though it was against Hindu religion and customs,Live in relationships also legalised by law, divorce were very common in this fourth generation, this way the four generations with different backgrounds became a part of progress of their own time. !!
