Somen was a very honest and simple man.He lost his every thing in the Flood occurred last Year.He had have a small hut and a small piece of land,but every thing drowned in the flood.Many people lost every thing and then they reached to the town in search of work.It was very tough to find a work he walked this shop to that shop and this factory to that factory but without any guaranty no body was ready to give job and so he accepted the house servant’s job at Mrs.Sood’s house.She was a lonely unmarried and old business woman but very shrewd by nature.She was paying him less and taking all house hold works.He had no other way so he was bearing every thing.
One day Mrs.Sood was searching her earrings since morning.She said she had kept them in dressing table’s drawer and now they are not there.She searched all over,then she said,”you have stolen them”Somen got scared,He was saying again and again that he had not even seen them,but she called the Police, Inspector was good,he asked his constable to search every where,after ten minutes Constable came back with the earrings in his hand he found them in the bathroom,in toothbrush box,She felt ashamed and saying sorry again and again to the Inspector and somen as well,but Somen said “I am leaving the job”he went inside brought his box opened and showed to every one ,it was a broken box,with torn old attires in it,he saw the lottery ticket which he bought last month.
He came out and went to the market from where he bought the ticket,Today was the same date the result was to be declared,he showed the ticket to the agent,he tallied in the news paper,and Wow ! Somen won ,one Crore Rupees.He Thanked GOD.He is a known Sweets trader of the town now.
