Long long ago,there were two brothers living in Arab.Kasim and Alibaba.After father’s death Kasim the elder brother took all the precious things,big house,land business and gave a small hut to his younger brother Alibaba.Alibaba was a good young man,he did not complain,he had to do hard work in other People’s lands for his livelihood,some time he had to take other people’s cattle to the jungle for grazing.One day he took donkeys for grazing to the jungle.suddenly he heard taping of horse feet,he hid the donkeys behind the bushes and himself too.He saw there were forty one horses and one man was riding each and each had two bags with him,there leader was on the white horse and he was leading them all.They stopped in front of mountain,the leader said words ”Khul ja sim sim”and the mountain’s front portion got divided into two parts and they all went in,and then the mountain again became in the same position.Alibaba was sitting silently,and the donkeys too.After half n’hour they all came back,bags were not with them,they went away,the mountain again became in the same position.Alibaba understood that they were thieves,and they had gold coins,silver coins,and jewellery,in the bags,he knew,that now those thieves are not coming back soon,so he came out with the donkeys and came near the mountain,spoke the same words,the mountain’s front portion devided into two parts,he went in with the donkeys,he saw a huge treasure there,he collected them,now his donkeys were laden with the gold silver and jewellery,he came out fast and reached back home fast.His wife was surprised seeing such a big treasure she exclaimed Wow !,but Alibaba asked her to keep silent and get a scale from Kasim’s house,and not to tell anybody about this treasure.His wife went to Kasim’s house and asked for scale,Kasim’s wife was a clever lady,she thought “Why Alibaba needs scale,he does not earn enough money for even food,then what for he is asking for the scale,she put some glue on back side of the scale and gave it to Alibaba’s wife.
Alibaba and his wife weighed the treasure and then Alibaba’s wife went to return back the scale.Kasim’s wife took the scale,closed the door,and turned the scale around,and her eyes opened wide,there was a gold coin stuck there.He went running to Kasim and showed this describing every thing.
Next morning,Kasim went to Alibaba’s house,talked to him very affectionately and asked”From where you have got the treasure?Alibaba had no option,he told each and every thing to Kasim.He warned him”They are very dangerous,Be careful”
Next morning Kasim also went to the same place,but he did not weight and went inside,It was amazing for him,so he wasted a big part of time only in viewing the jewels and ornaments.Then he collected them and wanted to come out but he forgot the words which he had to speak for opening the mountain into two parts.and suddenly he heard the tapping of horse feet,he went in and tried to hide himself under the heap of coins.The thieves had seen the donkeys while they were coming,so they knew,some body is there inside and actually they wanted to find the man who stole there treasure.Within five minutes the found him ,cut his throat,and hanged him,thinking that if some body is his companion ,he will definitely come in search of him.
Kasim did not return back home,so his wife came to Alibaba,and asked him to search his brother.
Alibaba went there,and wait for some time,Just in ten minutes he saw thieves coming out of the cave,After their departure he went in,he saw his brother’s dead body and became very sad ,he brought him back home.Kasim’s wife was weeping like anything.Now they had to bury the dead body but before that they need a cobbler to stitch the throat,Marzina was given the duty to call him as she was a very intelligent maid.She went to the market and offered a cobbler two gold coins for a very small work at home.he got ready,she blind folded his eyes and took him to Alibaba’s house.He stitched Kasim’s throat and then Marzina took her up to his shop with blind folded eyes.
When the thieves reached to their cave,they saw the dead body was not there,now they got worried,they decided to search the another man who took the deadbody.The leader knew that the man definitely had have gone to the cobbler to stitch the throat before burring it.So he went to the market and started asking all cobblers,the cobbler who had stitched the throat ,got ready to show him the house for five gold coins.he asked the leader to blind fold his eyes and follow him,he started counting and reached exactly at the Alibaba’s house,The leader made a cross at the door with a chalk and threw the chalk there.He decided to come there with his gang and attack.
Marzina was cleaning the house,she saw the cross at the door and a chalk laying there.She picked up the chalk and made the same cross on the doors of four five neighbourhood houses.
At night when the thieves came there they got confused seeing the cross signs on more than one door,and they had to go back.
Now,The leader of the thieves came to know that his enemy is very clever and to defeat him it is necessary for them to live around him.So he started a shop of Jewels in that area.He enquired and found that Alibaba was a poor man but now he is rich,he understood the matter.He started trying to make Alibaba friend,and he got succeeded.
One day Alibaba invited him for dinner.He said O.K.but I have a problem,My friend has sent 41 containers of cooking oil from village,I have no space to keep them,can I use your Terrace to put them,Alibaba agreed,and he put the containers,only one container was filled with cooking oil,his forty companions were sitting in rest of the containers.He asked them to sit alert,and come out for attack,after listening his three claps.
Drinks started,Alibaba asked his wife to send some “Pakaudas”{Indian salty and spicy fried eatable}Alibaba’s wife asked Marzina to go and buy some cooking oil from the shop as she needs it for making “Pakaudas”Marzina said,Why should I go to the market,we have got a lot of cooking oil on the terrace,I am just bringing it for you,She went to the terrace,and opened one,she heard “shall I come out”She said”Shhh—not now”one by one she opened all,heard same question and replied same answer.She found cooking oil in one container,She brought it down stairs,made it hot,and dropped in all those containers,all the thieves died inside.Then she came down.She was a good dancer,She expressed her wish to dance,Alibaba permitted her,She danced hard,and at last,inserted her knife in the leader’s heart,He died immediately,Alibaba shocked and asked her”Why did you kill him”She said”he is not your friend,he has planned to attack you and your family”She showed all the containers.Alibaba thanked her for saving his and his family’s life.Now Alibaba became the owner of the Jewel’s shop too.Marzina was now a respected and lovable family member.
