Long Long ago,There was a Spice Merchant in Kolkata.His name was Ramdular.His father was quite poor,After his death,Hardworking Ramdular succeeded in establishing a Spice business.He earned quite a good money.He was very honest and kind too.
Once black pepper’s Prices gone down.Ramdular had many bags full of black pepper,but he did not sell them in less price.
Those days an European came to him.He said”I have got a lot of black pepper,Would you keep {Mortgage}them,and give me some rupees?This time I need money.”
Ramdular said I don’t keep {Mortgage}things and give money,this is not my business.I can buy your black pepper and give you money.”The European thought “There may be possibility of increasing the rates,so this man is buying my black pepper in less price,but he wasin need of money so he agreed and said”O.K.If you don’t mortgage these bags then buy them,because I need money.”
Ramdular bought his all bags,after two three days,the prices went up,Ramdular sold his own bags and the European’s bags and earned big profit.
After some days that European again came to Ramdular,he was again in need of money.Ramdular said”I was waiting for you.I was sure that you will come again and sell black pepper”The European said”Yes I am in need of money so buy these black pepper bags”Ramdular put the bags on scale weighed them and gave him money,The European counted the money and said”You have given me excess money”Ramdular said”No! the rates have gone up now”The European took out a paper and pen and calculated,he again said”No! The amount is still excess”Ramdular said”Last time the rates were less while you sold your black pepper,but I sold them in increased rates so that profit was your’s.The European was surprised very much,he thought”How honest an Indian Businessman is?”
