Maharshi Atri did not have any child
so was very sad.He and his wife prayed hard to Lord Shiva and after some time
he got a baby girl named Apala.she grew up and when she sixteen ,Rishi Atri got
worried about her marriage.He started searching a good match for her.He liked
one Rishi’s son Krashaswa for her and he was ready for marriage.At the right
time they got married.Apala went to her
in laws house.She was very good towards them and husband she served them nicely and they felt great attachment towards her.Apara was educated and very beautiful.Krashaswa was completely satisfied and happy.One day he saw some white spots on Apala’s body.He understood that she is suffering from a disease and his attraction started vanishing .Apala understood it but Krashaswa did not show directly any thing so both of them were looked sad and worried and the happy days they spent together were now only memories.At last one day She asked Krashaswa ,”What is my fault ?”He replied,”No nothing.””Then why do are you look angry ? If I have done any mistake I am sorry about that,she tried to touch Krashaswa ‘s feet but he moved from there.Apala could not understand what the matter was she started weeping and again asked him seriously,Krashaswa then said,”You are suffering from a White spots disease,your father hid this,he betrayed me,I neither want to touch you nor want to see your face.Apala said ,”If you don’t want my presence then I will not stay here”She went back to her father’s house.She did not tell any thing to her father.She promised herself to make Lord Indra happy by offering him Somras.She started moving in all jungles to find “Somvalli”{VINE}.One day she found a vine,to test that it is same,she cut by teeth,{Somras}started dropping,She was happy,she shouted with joy,”Lord Indra! I will offer you Somras”Hearing this Lord Indra immediately appeared there and started leaking Somras,dropping from her mouth.He said,”I am very happy,You can ask three wishes”She said,”If you are happy,then first grow hair on my bald father’s head,Grow crops in my father’s deserted field,and remove all white spots from my body.”Indra was so happy drinking Somras,he said “Tathastu”{ok} ,When Lord Indra about to go,she requested,”I will rub this Somvalli on stone,You Please have some more Somras before going”Lord Indra said “After drinking Somras dropped from your mouth,how would I like Somras rubbed on stone,If you want to offer me Somras,then bite it ,Apala obeyed Lord Indra for his happiness.

Shining hair grew on Maharshi Atri’s
head, was now not bald,his Field was now full of crops,Apala’s body was now
without white spots and shining with young age glow.They were now doing hard
prayers to offer thanks for fulfilling the wishes.At the same time a smart and
handsome man arrived and got down from a horse.He was now in Apala’s
feet,saying Sorry again and again.He was Apala’s husband krashashwa .Apala
helped him standing up.Tears were rolling down from Krashaswa and Apala’s
eyes.Both of them offered {Poornahuti}the last act of “Yagya”{Hard Prayer}
