Grandma's Stories--417--Emily & Emerald Dove !!

Emily was a very kind girl.She was very soft towards animals birds & even small insects.Her grandma used to tell her stories every night at bed time.Their impact was very deep,and she became kind and helpful.She could feel their pain if they are hurt.She was living with her Grandma in a small town.She had never seen her parents.She knew they died in an car accident,She was just one year old at that time while Mom & Dad expired ,they were coming back from a party while a truck dashed their car and they died at the spot.Emily was with her Grandma at that time and remained there.Grandma loved her very much.Both of them were each other’s hope and happiness and were very happy with each other.They had have their own house.There was a small garden of flower plants and in the front side there was equal space as well,for kitchen garden ,but they did not swo any vegetables there .There was an Olive tree only and grass was there all over,which was trimmed and maintained by Grandma every now and then.Emily had hanged a big bird feeder,before going to school she used to fill that and all the birds chirping around her,as it was a daily routine,they never got scared with her or her Grandma .In fact Grandma had to keep the back door closed most of the time as sometimes birds wanted to come in.One morning when Emily went there to fill the feeder,she saw an Emerald Dove there,it flew down fast towards Emily and sat on her hand,she put her on her palm and started pampering it with another hand ,it was shivering first,but after two minutes it stopped shivering and became normal with the affectionate touch of Emily’s small hand,she put it down and found its one paw was hurt and it could not put it on the ground.Emily called her Grandma,and showed that,She said ,”Don’t worry we will take it to Uncle Ben”Uncle Ben was a retired Vet and Grandma’s Friend,now practicing from home.”Hurry up now,you are getting late”Emily and Grandma put the Emerald in a basket carefully ,put some grains to eat,Emily went to school but couldn’t concentrate there,and ran towards home after school”Grandma was ready ,Emily changed her uniform and they went to Uncle Ben’s House.He was waiting,as Grandma already had told him the details,He hold the bird ,checked and said it is due to trapping somewhere in tree’s branch or some sharp thread,but don’t worry,it can be cured,though it will take some time.Grandma,and Emily got relaxed,it was a big satisfaction for them,Doctor then plastered its paw delicately .”Is he feeling pain “She asked.”Yes ! A little bit,but it will be perfectly fine.”Emily thought ,”I can cry in pain,but birds and animals ?”
