Leela—15
As I wrote earlier We lived as tenant in My Aunt’s{ Father’s one of elder sister named Subhadra}house. It was a huge house at Mahatma Gandhi Road, Exactly on the road, A three storeye building ,called “Baadaa” those days.In this house there were about fifteen families living. There was a big courtyard in the middle and the houses were around it.There was a well also there in this “Aangan”as tap wather was not available those days.Back side door was opening in back street,A small washing space was there to wash utensils. Those days maids used to wash utensils almost in every house.
I started going to school at the age of 2 and half,My school’s name was “Bal-Mandir” It is still there at Mahatma Gandhi Road, later on it became My younger brother Bharat’s first school too.
My school was up to 3 P.M. and My mother’s was up to 5,Fathar’s come back time was not fixed,as he was a lawyer. So, arrangements were done how to pick me up from school and where to spend these two hours. At first Babulal started picking me up from school. He was the Peon ,but I respected him very much.He used to drop me at Bhagvanti Bai’s house, she was also Peon in Leela’s school. Both of them were working in Morning shift so it was easier for them to do these works.Every day I was served “Kalakand”{A sweet made by Khoya}at Bhagvanti Bai’s house}. Everyday’s this routine was not an easy task, specially ,after doing cooking ,washing clothes, and of course cleaning. But ,Leela did,I found a very laborious lady in her.
