Leela—16
It was a fun living in that bilding. It was inheritance of two brothers,Elder one was Ram and younger one was Lakhan and 50% tenants were giving rent to the elder brother and 50% to the younger brother. My one more uncle{Father’s Elder Brother} Mr.Pandurang Perlekar was also living with his family –wife and three daughters,as tenant at the back side.Lots of children ,playing in the “Aangan”and movements and noises inside and on the road side made the house very lively.I never saw any body quarrelling with each other.Leela got special respect as she was a teacher and a working lady.I found my parents quite social there. They used to go when invited to any function there and they used to invite all children twice or thrice in a year on holidays for delicious feast-once Dahi Bada party ,once “Aamras Puri”and once “Basundi-Puri”{Thick Milk with all dry fruits}.All cooked by Leela.I used to spend my most of the time with my Aunt. She was very friendly with me.Though she had have three sons quite elderly for me but I liked there, she used to make colourful dolls ,wearing sarees, with all ornaments, from different provinces of India,by cloth and those were sold in the front Toy shop,{her own Tenant-named Hattu}.I used to go to an uncle{Mr.Sakhardande} working in cloth mills ,he was a bachelor and had have no family, living in a very small room,He always took me to the Chocolate-Biscuit shop, and bought me whatever I asked,Though it was a very bad habit and I was forbidden many times by {Anna-Mummy} my parents.I would like to tell about one more family here, living on the first floor, back side.It was “Toke” family,One elder sister and three younger brothers, father was working in cloth mills{In Indore –there wee 8 big cloth mills at that time-Filmstar Johny walker’s father also working in one of the Cloth mills}.Toke children had lost their mother and the elder sister was doing all the house hold works. They all were very intelligent, and laborious, Whenever I saw them, they were busy in studies. After many years I came to know that the Girl {Shashi Toke}got married to a Bengali boy named Gurupad Das in U.S. {I saw lots of degrees were written in front of their names on the Wedding Card }Later on all the brothers reached U.S.
