Next day again King Bhoj went to sit on the throne.While seventeenth female statue Vidyawati started telling her a story about King Vikramaditya's sacrifice--
King Vikramaditya's kingdom was known for his good governance and prosperity .He used to visit around in ordinary man's getup to know the reality about his people.One day when he was passing by a house he heard a cry,she was saying her husband," You should go and talk to the king about it.The Bramhin said," No,I am not going to do any thing." King Vikramaditya tried to listen but could not listen even a single word.He knocked the door.The Bramhin opened the door,King Vikramaditya disclosed his identity and asked,"Why are you sad ? What are you hiding from me,I am your king I must know every thing and it is my responsibility to solve all problems of my subjects.Speak up.
The Bramhin said," Your Majesty ! We have been married for twelve years,but we don't have any child,we went to many temples,and Pilgrimages did fast,and "Yagya" { Hard Prayer} too but nothing happened.
"One day I had a dream that two saints were doing "Yagya"and sacrificing themselves,Lord Shiva pleased with them and fulfilled their desires.Then GOD asked my wife to do the same I don't want to lose my wife"
King Vikramaditya said,"I will sacrifice myself,instead of your wife.
He called Vetaals and asked them to take him to the place.Following the saints,King Vikramaditya also sacrificed himself.Lord Shiva pleased with him sprinkled holy water on him when he became alive he asked King Vikramaditya"What is your wish "? King Vikramaditya said"With Your blessings I have every thing,but Today I have come here for a childless couple.Your wish will be fulfilled,he gave two lotus flowers,and said "Give one to the Bramhin family and keep other with you."
While coming back home King Vikramaditya gave one flower to the Bramhin family ,After some months they were blessed with a Son.
Vidyawati then asked,"Have You ever done such sacrifice for others ?"
Raja Bhoj moved back.
