Grandma's Stories--368--TenaliRam & Thieves !!

One day Tenaliram was coming back from court thinking that he has not watered his fields he decided to do the work next day.Suddenly he saw two shadows behind a tree.He came inside the house and started scolding loudly his wife,”You are very careless,haven’t you heard about the thieves moving in the town,Why don’t you keep the door closed ? Ok Do one thing ,put all the jewellery and the money in the box I will throw that in our well,the thieves can never know where the money is,and he slowly whispered in his wife’s ear,”There are two thieves watching us outside the house,so keep something heavy in the box”his wife was intelligent,she kept grinding stones in the box and Tenaliram threw the box in the well out side.The two thieves became very happy to hear this,they pulled out the water whole night to see the box.They were just pulling water and throwing it in Tenaliram’s fields.At last when they pulled out the box and opened it ,there was no jewellery or money inside,It was morning,Tenaliram came out and thanked them for watering his fields.The ran away.
