Leela –22 {Last Part}
Leela was transferred to Dewas a place near her home town Indore.It is a calm and quiet place.It is known as Dewas because on a hill there are Two Goddess’s temples.It is said that long ago while there were no temples people heard huge noise they all went running and saw the hill got divided into two parts ,the elder one’s idol is small ,she is said to be very calm by nature,and the younger once idol is big and in her hand there is a big chopper,and it is said that ,the hill divided into two because of their fight,and now their idols and temples are exactly opposite to each other.It is said that some body who ever comes there to get their blessings ,and make a small heap of small stones {assuming house}will very soon get house of his own.
She used to come from Dewas to Indore on Saturdays and going back on Mondays.That time I was also doing job in Government Middle School ,Kannod,my schedule was also same,but the difference was that she was mother and she was a perfect organizer of home,so while I was enjoying my Sundays by viewing pictures with my brother and sister she was managing Indore’s weekly program,my weekly program,by cooking food and washing every body’s lots of clothes.
Before retirement she was transferred to “Malav Kanya Uchhter Madhymik Vidyalay”a very big ,renowned school of Indore but she could perfectly managed.She once invited famous Poetess “Mahadevi Verma”as chief guest of one of the school’s program.
When she retired ,we all wanted her to work in any big private school,she had gone also to apply,but she thought she had spent a life as Principal and she will not be able to do assistance.So she dropped the idea of doing job.
At starting she felt a vacuum in her life so every day she started going to market ,to bank riding her “Luna”but soon she felt it is a false effort.Father was still going to the court,but at the age of 64 in 1990 he expired by heart failure.It was a great shock for all of us.We both sisters were married and my younger brother had just started his work .
Any way is,she lived a long life.She left behind a complete family of her three children,including even,two grandsons and two grand daughters,three great grand daughters and a great grandson.{All doing well}
Of course the vacuum we feel in her absence could never be filled but she will always be a sweet memory and a blessing for us !!
