Short English Essays !!4 An Indian Farmer !!

An Indian farmer is the back bone of the society.His importance is the big part of Indian economy.He grows all grains,fruits,vegetables for us,cotton for our clothes.Indian farmer is a hard working man.He works morning till evening in the scorching heat and biting cold.Early in the morning he goes to the farm with his Oxen ,ploughs his field ,sows seeds,and waters the plants.These days tractors help him fast.He looks after his crops and saves them from being spoiled by stray cattle and wild animals.He has no holidays.At noon he takes his meal under any tree and takes some rest.
The farmer leads a simple life.He lives in a clay house,eats simple food and wears simple clothes.Generally he is illiterate.He believes in old customs and superstitions { unfortunately yet some of them }His cattle is his most valuable property.Often during drought crops fail and he is in trouble.When the crop ripens ,he feels happy.He reaps it ,threshes it { these days mostly  mills do this } and then takes the grains to the market.In time of bad harvest he has to spend his saved money to buy seeds,sometimes he sinks into debt.
Recently the use of agricultural machinery is increased,but chemical manures proven harmful to lands and crops and these days farmers again started making compost through traditional way.They are getting credit facilities by our government.This changed his outlook and improved him and his life.
